Title

WFSAD Chipping

Body

Each year, chipping services are offered to property owners residing within the Wildfire Suppression Assessment District, located in the Foothill and Extreme Foothill high-risk fire zones of the Santa Barbara Hills. These services are offered to encourage landowners to create defensible space and provide a cost-effective way to dispose of cut material.

Chipping Complete for 2024!

We would like to thank all homeowners within the Wildland Fire Suppression Assessment District that utilized our chipping services this year in order to help dispose of their cut vegetation created by maintaining their Defensible Space areas around their home. This year we successfully chipped over 500 tons of cut vegetation. Since 2008 we have successfully chipped and removed over 6000 tons of vegetation as part of the annual chipping services. Additionally, we were able to recycle 100% of the chipped material as mulch which was given to homeowners.

*Please note that West Mountain Road and Coyote Road are now in the same chipping area.

A copy of this schedule will also be sent out in the annual WFSAD Newsletter. Please review the scheduled chipping dates and make sure your cut material is placed in front of your home no later than the first day chipping is scheduled to begin in your area. Also, make sure that your cut vegetation is visible from the roadway and placed in front of your home no sooner than 2 weeks before chipping is scheduled to begin in your area. Crews will not make second passes through chipping areas.
