The City of Santa Barbara is seeking individuals to serve on the various City Advisory Groups. Members of these groups play an important role in shaping our community through active participation. Advisory Group Recruitment Information

Every year, the City holds a recruitment in the Spring and again in the Fall, to fill various vacancies in the Advisory Groups. City Council approves every recruitment cycle, and those Council-approved deadlines are listed in the section below. Applications are accepted year-round for every position, not just for current vacancies. Applicants will be notified via email if their submitted application will be included in an upcoming recruitment cycle. Applications for current vacancies must be submitted by the application deadline in order for them to be included in the current active recruitment. Further information regarding the recruitment process can be found in the "Guidelines for All City Advisory Groups" reference document located below.

In order to be considered for appointment, all applicants must attend an interview with the City Council. 

Santa Barbara Youth Council applicants must attend an interview with both the City Council and the current Youth Council.
