Frequently Asked Questions: Tenant Protection Ordinances
On January 27, the City Council adopted a Temporary Rent Increase Moratorium and amendments to the Just Cause Evictions Ordinance. Effective February 26, these protections for certain residential rental units remain in effect through December 31, 2026, while a permanent rent stabilization ordinance is developed and brought forward for Council consideration later this year.
