Sewer Main Cleaning Scheduled for Select Properties Starting February 17

The City of Santa Barbara has contracted Empire Pipe Cleaning and Equipment to perform sewer main cleaning on properties that have sewer easements from February 17 through the end of March. Work will be completed Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Cleaning the sewer mains removes debris and root growth ensuring wastewater will flow freely to the El Estero Water Resource Center to be treated. This contract provides additional staffing and equipment to support City staff who typically perform these cleaning tasks. Please view the maps below of where work will take place. As part of this scheduled maintenance, Empire Pipe Cleaning and Equipment staff may need brief access to properties to clean the sewer main. If necessary, the contractor will notify the homeowner regarding the work to be completed. 

Upper State Street- Via Lucero to N. La Cumbre Road area

Lower Riviera- North Nopal Street & East Anapamu Street over to North Milpas Street and East Gutierrez Street

Eastside towards East Beach- North Quarantina Street to Cacique Street and South Soledad Street to North Calle Cesar Chavez
