Street Maintenance Underway on Las Positas Road, Shoreline Drive, and Other Streets Through November 13
Construction started Monday, September 15 and will continue through Thursday, November 13 as American Asphalt South, Inc., under contract with the City of Santa Barbara, removes pavement markings on various city streets including:
• Las Positas Road from Highway 101 to State Street;
• Shoreline Drive from Salida Del Sol to Loma Alta Drive;
• Hollister Drive from Los Carneros Road to Fairview Avenue; and
• Various residential streets.
Construction is anticipated to be completed Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
While construction occurs during the day, vehicle access will be restricted, pedestrian traffic will be maintained with minimal disruption to normal circulation, and bicycle traffic will not be permitted during construction on affected blocks.
After the removal of pavement markings, the streets will receive slurry seal treatment as preventative maintenance. This effort will provide a uniform finish on the streets and extend the streets lifespan.
The striping removal and slurry seal treatment work is part of the FY2025A-Pavement Maintenance Project.
We greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation as we improve our local infrastructure.
