Notice of Proposed Tree Removals and New Tree Plantings for Cliff Drive Vision Zero Project

Authored on
Body

The Cliff Drive Vision Zero project (Project) proposes removing 23 of the existing 322 street trees on Cliff Drive, with approximately 70 new street tree planting opportunities. The Project consultant arborist identified them as impacted trees by the proposed 3.1-mile separated bike path for all ages and abilities as part of the Project, which includes 14 enhanced street crossings.

The City has posted ribbons and tree removal notices on the 23 trees proposed for removal in advance of the Thursday, June 5, 2025, Street Tree Advisory Committee (STAC) meeting. The STAC will review the proposed tree removals and provide recommendations for the new tree planting species for Cliff Drive. The Project will then go to the Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC) on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, for formal review and approval of the proposed changes.
