A resident appealed the Parks and Recreation Commission’s (PRC) motion to approve the removal of 13 street trees and planting of 37 new trees associated with the Milpas Street Crosswalk Safety and Sidewalk Widening Project. The appeal goes before City Council on March 11, 2025. The City is requesting the appeal be denied due to safety and accessibility issues associated with the 13 trees proposed for removal. Additionally, the PRC's approved motion includes planting 37 new street trees and preserving 82 trees along the project corridor.
