Authored on
Body

Sewer backups are not only unpleasant but can result in costly damages. If your property has toilets, tubs, or sinks located below the elevation of your street, you might be required to install an approved backwater valve.

To learn more about backwater valves, who needs one, and how to properly maintain them, watch our video. In addition, Sewer Lateral Inspection Program (SLIP) staff is available to provide support to property owners installing a backwater valve, to schedule an appointment call (805) 568-1082 or email SLIP@SantaBarbaraCA.gov
