Man Declared Dead at Stearns Wharf

On September 6, 2023, at 11:47 a.m., the Santa Barbara Police Department Combined Communications Center received a report of an unresponsive adult male in the restrooms near the base of Stearns Wharf. Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol, Santa Barbara Police, and the Santa Barbara City Fire Department all responded to the scene.

Once on scene, first responders conducted lifesaving medical aid, and Narcan was administered in an attempt to revive the male. Tragically, the subject was declared dead on scene.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Coroner responded to investigate further.

The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.

No foul play is suspected at this time.
