Independent Redistricting Commission Bilingual In-person Community Hearings Commence in January

The Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC), is deeply committed to encouraging maximum community participation from underrepresented communities. The Community Hearings are moving to in-person, make sure you join us for one or all of the six in-person hearings we will be holding.

We are kicking off our in-person Community Hearings in District 1:

o   Saturday, January 8, 2022: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

o   Franklin Elementary School, Multi-Purpose Room

1111 East Mason Street, Santa Barbara

The upcoming in-person Community Hearings will be:

  • District 2 Hearing

o   Thursday, January 20, 2022: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

o   La Cumbre Junior High School

2255 Modoc Road, Santa Barbara

  • District 3 Hearing

o   Saturday, February 12, 2022: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

o   Harding Elementary School

1625 Robbins Street, Santa Barbara

  • District 4 Hearing

o   Thursday, March 3, 2022: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

o   Peabody Elementary School

  • District 5 Hearing

o   Wednesday, March 9, 2022: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

o   MacKenzie Park

  • District 6 Hearing

o   Monday, March 14, 2022: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

o   Carrillo Recreation Center

This is your opportunity to get involved and see the proposed plans for Santa Barbara. 

We hope to see you there. There will be Spanish and American Sign-Language interpretation available for all of the meetings.
