Average Unit-size Density Incentive Program Made Permanent

In December 2023, the City Council amended the Average Unit-size Density Incentive Program (AUD Program) to make it into the City’s permanent multi-unit housing program by eliminating the Program’s expiration date (Ordinance 6129). The ordinance amending the AUD Program went into effect on January 4, 2024.

In the ten years that the AUD Program existed as a trial program (beginning in July 2013), 973 housing units were issued building permits (as of May 2023). More about the AUD Program’s first 10 years can be found in the AUD Program Progress Report
