Lighting Up Green in Honor of Mental Health Awareness Month
The City is joining the community in “Lighting Up Green” for Mental Health Awareness Month. Throughout May, buildings across Santa Barbara County will shine in lime green, the official color of mental health awareness. This campaign serves as a powerful reminder that no one is alone in facing mental health challenges. This year’s national theme, "More Good Days, Together," encourages us all to reflect on what a “good” day looks like, both for ourselves and for our communities.
Why Mental Health Matters:
- Mental health is essential to overall health and well-being.
- 1 in 5 people will experience a mental health condition in any given year.
- Early intervention saves lives—seeking support at the first signs of concern can make all the difference.
- Now is the time to take action—raising awareness is just the beginning. Let’s commit to lasting change.
