Body

The Laguna Stormwater Pump Station and Tide Gate Renewal Project is currently underway which will rehabilitate the Laguna Channel Pump Station and improve the surrounding drainage features as part of the larger Laguna Channel Pump Station Facility. The Facility is located on the ocean side of Cabrillo Boulevard at 236 East Cabrillo Boulevard near the Laguna Channel terminus. This is a critical City infrastructure project which will minimize the impact of flooding in the low-lying neighborhoods between Laguna Street and Milpas Street.

The Laguna Pump Station Project will improve the resiliency and efficiency of the Pump Station and extend its useful life. The scope of the Project includes the electric motor driver conversion of the pumps, installation of new electrical distribution equipment, installation of an emergency standby diesel generator, concrete repairs to the Pump Station wetwell, repairs to the Laguna Channel grouted channel lining, and cleaning of the tidal slide gates. The Project is anticipated to be completed winter of 2026.
