Upcoming Construction Along Anacapa Street at Anapamu and Figueroa Streets Starting January 19
Starting Monday, January 19, Lash Construction, Inc. will begin reconstruction of two intersections along Anacapa Street:
• Anacapa Street at Anapamu Street
• Anacapa Street at Figueroa Street
This construction is part of the City’s pavement maintenance program, designed to enhance pedestrian and driver safety while upgrading essential infrastructure. Construction at these two intersections will focus on providing ADA-compliant access ramps, sidewalk repair, and maintenance of existing roadway pavement.
What to Expect
Working Hours: Construction will occur 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Traffic Measures: Road closures, detours, and temporary traffic controls will be in place to ensure safety for the public and construction workers. Anacapa Street will remain open to traffic; however, portions of Figueroa and Anapamu Streets will require temporary roadway closures to facilitate construction activities. The work will be phased to ensure both streets are not closed at the same time. See below for anticipated phasing of roadway closures:
• Phase 1: Figueroa Street, between Anacapa and Santa Barbara Streets, will be closed 24/7 for approximately 1.5 weeks.
• Phase 2: Figueroa Street, between Chapala Street and Anacapa Street, will be closed 24/7 Monday through Friday, for approximately two weeks. Motorists traveling on the 00W–00E blocks of Figueroa Street should use Chapala Street for access.
• Phase 3: Westbound Anapamu Street, between Santa Barbara Street and Anacapa Street, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This work is expected to take approximately 1.5 weeks. Eastbound Anapamu Street will remain open.
• Phase 4: Westbound Anapamu Street, between Anacapa Street and Chapala Street, will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This work is expected to take approximately 1.5 weeks. Eastbound Anapamu Street will remain open.
