The League of American Bicyclists awarded the City’s efforts to build better places to bike with a Silver-level Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) award. Santa Barbara joins 497 communities across the country in the movement for safer streets and better bicycling for everyone. The Silver Level BFC award recognizes the City's commitment to improving conditions for all people who bike through investments in bike infrastructure, active transportation policies, education programs, and bike events to encourage biking as a healthy and sustainable transportation option.
