City of Santa Barbara Expands Sandbag Station Locations
The City of Santa Barbara is doubling the number of available sandbag stations from two to four to better serve the community during severe storm events.
When are Sandbag Stations Opened?
Sandbag stations are only opened when a "FLOOD WATCH" is issued by the National Weather Service and then confirmed by the City of Santa Barbara.
The City will announce sandbag station hours through:
- City Sandbag Station Website– SantaBarbaraCA.gov/Sandbags
- City News and Social Channels
- Channel 18 and City TV Live Stream
- Local Media Outlets
Residents should monitor the City’s Sandbag website for updates.
Sandbag Filling Station Locations
The City's sandbag stations are located at:
- Annex Yard – 401 East Yanonali Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
- City Fire Station 7 – 2411 Stanwood Drive, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
- Santa Barbara City College Lot 3 - 801 Shoreline Drive, Santa Barbara, CA 93109
- The Armory - 700 E. Canon Perdido Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93103
Important Information for Residents:
- Sandbags are free of charge and meant for private property protection during storm emergencies.
- Bring your own gloves and shovels to fill your sandbags.
- Fill sandbags halfway so they are easier to lift and stack properly.
- Limit: 20 sandbags per trip.
