Water Transmission Main Rehabilitation Project Starting Monday, January 6th Near Mission Park
Beginning January 6th, the City will start work rehabilitating the Water Transmission Main in Mission Park. This Project will extend from the intersection of Mission and Garden Streets, along East Los Olivos Street/Mission Canyon Road to Foothill Road, and continue on Foothill Road from Mission Canyon to San Roque Road. This area will be open to traffic, but there may be temporary delays, detours and parking restrictions. Expect construction noise Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Construction is expected to be completed by May 2025, pending any potential weather delays.
Some portions of work will require a temporary full closure at the intersection of East Los Olivos Street and Mountain Drive. Message boards will be placed one week ahead of the closures with detours while the closure is in place.
Tierra Contracting, contracted through the City, will perform the work. Water service may be interrupted while the transmission pipeline is shut down. Community members affected will receive a detailed notice at their residence/business one day in advance of a proposed service interruption.

This critical pipeline delivers water from the Cater Water Treatment Plant to customers throughout the City.
The Public Works Department appreciates the community’s patience as we complete these important water infrastructure improvements.
