Stolen Vehicle Suspect Apprehended After Short Foot Pursuit

On March 11, 2025 at 10:27 a.m., Santa Barbara Police Dispatch received a call of stolen vehicle from the 500 Block of Red Rose Lane. While officers were taking the report, dispatch received a call from the vehicle manufacturer who advised the stolen vehicle was pinging to the 400 block of W. Valerio St. Officers responded to the area and located the stolen vehicle parked with a single occupant. When officers attempted to contact the occupant, he fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended.

The suspect was identified as twenty-six-year-old Santa Barbara resident Juan Antonio Ramirez. He was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail for vehicle theft and resisting arrest, and his bail was set at $25,000.
