Rumble Strip Installation Occurring on E. Los Olivos Street Near Mountain Drive Thursday, March 27

The City of Santa Barbara Streets Operations Division will be installing rumble strips on the northbound lane of East Los Olivos Street near Mountain Drive on Thursday, March 27 (please see map below).

East Los Olivos Street near Mountain Drive will experience traffic delays between 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during installation. Hours are subject to change due to weather or any complications that might occur. Impacted areas will be posted with NO PARKING signs. Please park outside of the posted areas during this process.

Project Benefits: The installation of rumble strips will significantly enhance safety along this section of East Los Olivos Street by providing crucial alerts to distracted or impaired drivers who might unintentionally drift from their lane. These tactile warning systems can naturally encourage drivers to reduce their speed in designated areas, further improving overall road safety.
