Oversized Vehicle Permits
In certain circumstances, eligible persons may apply for permits to park Oversized Vehicles on City streets. Temporary, Contractor, and Disability Oversized Vehicle Permits are subject to SBMC Section 10.44.220 and the adopted Rules and Regulations, in addition to all other state and local laws.
Without an oversized vehicle permit, trailers, mobile homes, buses, and trucks in excess of ¾ ton may not park on any city street for longer than 30 minutes and must be actively loading or unloading. An oversized vehicle permit allows trailers, mobile homes, and trucks in excess of ¾ ton to park on city streets for up to two hours per day.
To apply for a Parking Restriction Waiver, a permit which allows parking in a specific location on a temporary basis for storage containers, moving vans, construction, or special events, please contact the Public Works Permit Counter at 630 Garden Street at (805) 564-5388. The Downtown Parking office does not issue Parking Restriction Waivers.
