County Seeking Public Feedback

Authored on
Body

A public workshop will be hosted virtually to present the draft plan and solicit feedback on Wednesday, March 9 at 5:30 pm. During this workshop an overview of the draft plan will be provided and direct verbal feedback will be solicited. This workshop will support Spanish language participation. There is no registration for this workshop; attendees should visit the project website on the afternoon of the workshop to access the link to the virtual meeting room.

The public comment period began on March 1, 2022, and ends on March 15, 2022. Written comments should be addressed to Mr. J.D. Saucedo, 4408 Cathedral Oaks Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93110 or via emailed to jsaucedo@countyofsb.org. All comments must be received no later than March 15, 2022 at 5:00 P.M.

Spanish speaking community members who have questions about this plan or the feedback process should send an email in Spanish to oem@sbcoem.org. Once received, OEM will respond with a phone call to address any questions or concerns associated with received project emails in the Spanish language.

This draft plan release follows a year of plan development, two prior public workshops, and a community survey, as well as collaboration with all eight cities, several special districts, nonprofits, and other stakeholder groups. The MJHMP is updated every five years to prepare the county for changing and dynamic hazards, identifying vulnerable communities and structures, and preparing mitigation goals and actions.

We look forward to seeing and hearing your feedback on the draft plan!
