City’s Bilingual Outreach Coordinator Recognized by UC Santa Barbara

UC Santa Barbara’s ACE Partnership Award honors campus-community collaborations that are empowering and transformative. This year’s 2023 recipient is the City’s Bilingual Public Outreach Coordinator, Liliana Encinas. The UCSB community says staff, faculty, students, and Isla Vista residents have all benefited from Ms. Encinas' groundbreaking efforts to provide emergency preparedness training in multiple languages – even if it meant teaching a class at 5:30 a.m. to get employees certified!
