The City of Santa Barbara, Community Environmental Council (CEC), and the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) are thrilled to present An Evening with Climate Expert and National Security Advisor Sherri Goodman. The event will take place at CEC’s Environmental Hub at 1219 State St on Wednesday, November 6 at 5:30 pm.

Sherri Goodman, author of Threat Multiplier, will offer insights into the evolving thinking of military leaders on climate change, their contingency plans, and the potential global conflicts ahead. A Senior Fellow at the Wilson Center’s Environmental Change and Security Program and Polar Institute, and Secretary General of the International Military Council on Climate & Security, Sherri Goodman is credited with educating a generation of US military and government officials about the nexus between climate change and national security.

The event will provide a unique opportunity to delve into the intersection of climate change and national security, a topic at the forefront of global policy discussions. Attendees will be able to purchase Goodman’s book, which chronicles the military's strategic response to climate risks. Goodman’s expertise makes her uniquely positioned to answer today’s most pressing questions about climate change and national security: how military leaders’ thinking has evolved, their contingency plans, and where they see conflict coming next.

Space is extremely limited. Interested community members are invited to RSVP for this free event at CECSB.org.
