Celebrate National Public Works week on Thursday, May 8th from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Santa Barbara City College Great Meadow Lawn (map) with Public Works! Meet the Public Works staff and the equipment behind the department, including Streets and Water Resources vehicles, games, demonstrations, job opportunities, and more! This event is perfect for young children to enjoy “Touch a Truck,” and high school and college students to learn more about launching a “Career without debt!” This year’s theme is “People, Purpose, Presence,” highlighting the three cornerstone ideals that motivate public works professionals to serve in their communities every day. Read more on the APWA National Public Works Week website.
