Tours of the Charles E. Meyer Desalination Plant are offered on a monthly bases. Facility tours can accommodate 20 guests and are recommended for individuals 12 years of age or older. Advanced registration is required.

During tours, participants will learn about the process of turning sea water into high quality drinking water, including the plant's industry-leading technology, significant energy saving techniques, and the plant's role in securing Santa Barbara's water future.

To register for a tour, select a time from the list below. You may register yourself and one additional guest. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation email. All tour guests must wear closed toe shoes and we recommend brining a reusable water bottle for sampling the water.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your tour start time. All attendees are required to fill out a liability waiver. To speed up the check in process, you can print and sign your waiver in advance.

Parking

Limited on street parking is available. The closest City parking lots are located on the corner of Garden and Cabrillo, these parking lots are a 10 minute walk from the facility
