Effective September 21, 2023, the "Graffiti Abatement" on-line form will be replaced with SB Connect, our innovative mobile application designed to revolutionize the way residents engage with their local government, so you can report issues and make service requests with ease. Download the app today via the link here or submit via the City's SB Connect webpage linked here.

The City will remove graffiti on City Property and the public right-of-way. The City does not remove graffiti on private property, however, we will attempt to contact the owner or responsible party to remove it. Graffiti on telephone poles or utility boxes will be referred to the respective utility company.

If graffiti is in progress, please call 911. If you would like to report graffiti on your property, please call the Police Department at (805) 897-2300.

In an effort to remove graffiti around the city in a timely manner, the Santa Barbara City Council adopted the Graffiti Abatement Ordinance Program in 2005. The ordinance requires graffiti on private property to be removed within three days of notice. If graffiti is not removed within the three days, City staff may then remove it at a cost to the owner.
