Public Workshop for the Draft Sea-Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment
Wednesday, December 5, 2018. 6:00pm-8:00pm
Louise Lowry Davis Center
1232 De La Vina Street
This was the first of the Sea-Level Rise Adaptation Plan public workshop series. The focus of the workshop was the Draft Sea-Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment, which identifies the areas of the City that are at risk from sea-level rise and the related hazards through the year 2100, without any intervention. The Sea-Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment will inform the forthcoming Sea-Level Rise Adaptation Plan, which will evaluate various strategies to respond to the impacts identified in the Sea-Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment.
This workshop began with a formal presentation of the impacts identified in the Draft Sea-Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment, then included a group question and answer session, and concluded with an informal period where members of the public directly interacted with staff and viewed poster boards that included information on the Sea-Level Rise Adaptation Plan process, the draft Sea-Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment maps, and the types of strategies that were explored to address the impacts identified in the Sea-Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment.
