Santa Barbara City Firefighters Knock Down Early Morning Structure Fire
On Friday, June 23 at approximately 3:07 a.m., the Santa Barbara Police Department Combined Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a structure fire on the 700 block of Carpinteria Street. The Santa Barbara City Fire Department dispatched three fire engines, one truck company and a Battalion Chief to the scene.
The first firefighters on scene reported seeing heavy smoke and flames coming from a storage structure with nearby exposures. Firefighters made an aggressive offensive attack and got the fire knocked down within 45 minutes.
Two additional fire engines, a hazardous materials / light and air unit from the City Fire Department and a Battalion Chief from the Montecito Fire Protection District, also assisted.
When firefighters searched the area, there were no victims located. No injuries were reported either.
According to Fire Investigators who responded to the scene, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
