Independent Redistricting Commission to Consider Four Voting District Maps at its Final Community Hearing

Authored on

The Independent Redistricting Commission, which has been working with the public to adjust the lines of voting districts in accordance with population shifts, has voted to narrow down the map choices to a final four versions to consider for approval. The maps being considered and their demographic data can be found on the City’s website.

The maps under consideration:

101 RE

104 E

DEC Plan EU

DEC Plan EUB

The commission is seeking public input at the March 30 Community Hearing where they will be finalizing the voting districts. Fair, representative redistricting maps help ensure that elected officials will be responsive to the voters in their communities. Redistricting ensures every person has equal representation by drawing districts with approximately equal numbers of people. Your input is important in this process.
