Upcoming Paving Project on Coast Village Road Starting September 8
Starting Sunday night, September 8th, at 6:00 p.m., Coast Village Road will undergo roadway paving from Olive Mill Road to Hot Springs Road. This work includes grinding off the existing asphalt and overlaying with new asphalt. The paving will occur in nine phases, Sunday through Thursday, during nighttime hours between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. The work is expected to be completed by September 22nd.
Work will begin at Olive Mill Road, on the eastern end of Coast Village Road, and proceed westward. Each phase will be completed before moving on to the next phase. The final phase will include resurfacing of the Hot Springs Road Roundabout.
Detours will be in place to minimize construction time and ensure safety. Expect traffic control measures and potential temporary delays in the construction zones. Access will remain available for residents and businesses, though brief disruptions may occur. No parking signs will be posted at least 72 hours in advance.
This marks the final phase of work on Coast Village Road as part of the City of Santa Barbara's Fiscal Year 2024B Pavement Maintenance Project. Previous phases of the project installed pedestrian, bicyclist and vehicular safety improvements, including the construction of new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant sidewalk access ramps, new median island loading zones, flashing beacon crosswalks and the removal and repair of deteriorated sidewalk, curb and gutter.
This Project is primarily funded by Measure C.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this Project.
