Harvest Homecoming: Grand Opening of New Saturday Santa Barbara Certified Farmers Market!
What's going on?
Beginning September 28, 2024, the Santa Barbara Certified Farmers’ Market Association, Inc. (SBCFMA) is moving the Saturday Farmers Market to the City’s public right-of-way along Carrillo Street between Chapala and Anacapa Streets, and State Street between Canon Perdido and Figueroa Streets.
Why is the Market moving?
City Council selected the Cota Commuter Parking Lot for the new and much-needed Santa Barbara Police Station. This means SBCFMA is required to relocate the Saturday Market. After a robust community outreach effort and City Council approval, SBCFMA has a new home to kick off the fall season and before construction begins on the new Police Station.
Saturday Market hours of operation:
Every Saturday, effective September 28, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of State and Carrillo Streets.
Carrillo Street and the westbound lane on Figueroa Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. between Chapala and Anacapa Streets. State Street continues to be open to pedestrians, cyclists, and emergency vehicles. Cyclists are required to walk their bikes at the Market.
