Vehicle Pursuit Ends with Arrest

The subject arrested on June 6, 2023, involving a pursuit stemming from the 1900 block of De La Vina Street, was 43-year-old Santa Barbara resident Cary Glenn Allen. He was booked in the Santa Barbara County Jail on June 6, 2023. He was booked for Attempted Murder, Felony Fleeing an Officer (vehicle pursuit), and Mayhem. His bail was set at $2,000,000 (two million dollars).

The investigation showed the incident occurring in the 2000 block of Bath Street was not a traffic collision but an intentional act by the driver to strike the good Samaritan with his vehicle.

The victim is still receiving medical treatment at Cottage Hospital.
