The SBPD Community Academy is Back!

The Community Academy is a 6-week program that allows Santa Barbara community members to learn more about SBPD, our history, job functions, and specialty units. Participants will be provided with behind-the-scenes, hands-on experience, and will learn and explore the inner workings of the Santa Barbara Police Department. 

Sessions will be held every Wednesday between May 10 – June 14, 2023, 6 PM- 8:30 PM. Fifteen slots are available. 

Interactive experience may include a police department tour, police officer ride-alongs, communications center tour, traffic enforcement, DUI investigations, police equipment, crime scene investigation, police scenarios, K-9 demonstrations, and more.
