Grant Award for Cliff Drive Vision Zero Project

The City of Santa Barbara was awarded $27 million through the California Active Transportation Program (ATP) on December 7, 2022, for final design and construction of the Cliff Drive Vision Zero Project. The Program’s main purpose is to encourage increased use of active modes of transportation, such as biking and walking.
 
Design and environmental review for this project will commence in 2023, with construction anticipated to begin in 2027. City staff plans to hold additional public meetings to share project updates in 2023 and 2024, and will post details on the project webpage linked here: *Cliff Drive Vision Zero Planning Effort Webpage
