Request the Addition or Removal of a Streetlight
Please fill out a request form on the City's SB Connect webpage.
Effective October 17, 2023, the "Request to Add or Remove a Streetlight" on-line form will be replaced with SB Connect, our innovative mobile application designed to revolutionize the way residents engage with their local government, so you can report issues and make service requests with ease. Download the app today or submit your request via the City's SB Connect webpage.
After filling out the form, you will receive an email from the City with detailed instructions for either a printable or online petition. You will need to gather signatures from addresses that will be visually impacted by the streetlight. Signatures from addresses not visually impacted by the streetlight will not be considered. The petition can be submitted by email or mail.
Please note, the current policy provides for the installation of streetlights at intersections and mid-block points. In addition, streetlight installation is limited to the availability and location of Southern California Edison power poles.
