Due to the increased community transmission of COVID-19, the Library is introducing a modified service model for use of Library Facilities from Thursday, January 6 through February 14, 2022. The Library will evaluate public health conditions at the end of the month and may extend the modified service model.

Visits to the Library must be 30 minutes or less. To ensure that all are able to access the Library, patrons will be limited to one visit per day. Each building will have limited capacity to ensure social distancing and are set at 25% building capacity, including Library staff.

Limited seating is available for those using the Library's wireless internet with their own devices.

Masks Required

The Library will continue to require masks to be worn by all patrons 2 years of age and older at all times when inside Library buildings. Patrons who are seen wearing their mask improperly without fully covering their nose and mouth will be asked to leave immediately.

Central Library
• Access to the Library will only be from the Anapamu Street entrance.
• The Upper Level of the Library will be closed to the public. A limited amount of nonfiction, graphic novels, and young adult materials will be available for browsing on the main level. All materials are available to request via the Library Catalog.
• Access to microfilm collections or special local history collections can be arranged by appointment. Email AskALibrarian@SantaBarbaraCA.gov

Expanded Library on the Go Pop-up Visits

For those that feel safer accessing Library Services in an outdoor setting, we're adding Library on the Go stops all month long. Public stops will have access to a browsing collection, wifi, printing, and computers. Check back for updates!
