Thirty-three years ago, on July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law to ensure the civil rights of people with disabilities; establishing a clear and comprehensive national mandate for the elimination of discrimination against individuals with disabilities. The City recognizes the contributions and progress that Americans with disabilities have made in our community and continues to make improvements to accessibility in its programs and services, facilities, and public rights of way with the advice and participation of its Access Advisory Committee.
