Eastside Community Paseos Construction Update
Construction of the Eastside Community Paseos Project is scheduled to resume the week of October 9, 2023, on the 900 E. block of Cota Street, and will last for approximately one month on this block. Safety enhancements on this block include a new westbound bike lane on the north side of the street that will safely connect residents and students from the Eastside to Milpas Street and Santa Barbara Junior High School. On-street parking spaces will be shifted into the parkway along the north side of the block to accommodate the new bike lane.
Construction is anticipated to start on Alisos Street (between De La Guerra and Cacique Streets) the week of October 23, 2023, and will last approximately one month on Alisos Street. Traffic diverters, speed humps, and landscaped peninsulas will be installed along Alisos Street to encourage a reduction in vehicular volumes and speed for cyclists to share the roadway. The purpose of these enhancements is to create a bike-friendly route that will serve as a safe alternative to Milpas Street.
Residents will be notified prior to construction at each location. Traffic detours and delays and parking impacts should be anticipated during construction. We appreciate your continued support and patience.
