Kelly McAdoo was appointed as the City Administrator for the City of Santa Barbara in May 2025. As the City’s chief executive officer, she is responsible for overseeing day-to-day municipal operations, implementing policies set by the City Council, and leading more than a dozen departments that provide essential services to the community. Her leadership focuses on advancing Council priorities, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and promoting organizational effectiveness across all City functions.

Ms. McAdoo holds Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science, Economics, and International Studies, along with a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Kansas. She has also completed executive leadership training through the Harvard Kennedy School and the International City/County Management Association.
