All SBPL locations will be closed on Monday, November 11 for Veterans Day.
The Project will replace or rehabilitate all of the necessary components for operating this critical lift station facility, including the mechanical and electrical systems, to ensure reliable operations.
For more information, please see the Project Information Sheet.
Originally built in 1962, the Braemar Lift Station is the City’s largest and most critical lift station within the wastewater collection system, with a pumping capacity of 1,000 gallons per minute. It is located adjacent to Arroyo Burro Creek, and serves parts of the Campanil, and Alan Road neighborhoods, as well as the Arroyo Burro Beach County Park. Due to the Lift Station’s age, the existing mechanical and electrical systems are reaching the end of their useful life. This Project will rehabilitate these existing systems and protect the Lift Station against large flood events, ensuring continued performance for years to come.
At the corner of Cliff Drive and Alan Road, at 404 Alan Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93109.
Construction began in the summer of 2024.
The Project is funded through a low interest State Revolving Fund loan agreement with the State Water Resources Control Board.
Construction began in the summer of 2024. The construction completion date is tentatively scheduled for spring 2025. From summer 2024 until the Project’s completion in spring 2025, construction will affect Alan Road and Cliff Drive. Traffic impacts may include an extended, well-defined construction area in front of the Lift Station along both Alan Road and Cliff Drive, and temporary installation of a three-way stop at the corner of Alan Road and Cliff Drive. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained throughout construction.
