
City Awarded Nearly $3 Million for Wildfire Prevention Within Open Space Parks
The City has been awarded a $2.9 million CAL FIRE grant to bolster its commitment to wildfire resilience and community safety. The funding will support an ongoing collaboration between the City's Fire and Parks and Recreation Departments to conduct critical fire safety projects across the City's open spaces. The partnership will prioritize defensible space, fire access roads and fuel breaks, vegetation management, fuel load reduction, and community education.
