Fiscal Years 2026 and 2027 Human Services Grant Funding and Fiscal Year 2026 fiscal year Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs 

Starting November 12, the City of Santa Barbara will accept proposals from eligible applicants for the Fiscal Years 2026 and 2027 Human Services Grant Funding and Fiscal Year 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs.

A mandatory Application Workshop for CDBG Public Service/ Human Service/ Economic Development applicants will be held November 14, 2024, at 10 a.m. A mandatory Application Workshop for CDBG Capital applicants will be held November 14, 2024, at 11 a.m.  Both mandatory workshops will be held in the David Gebhard meeting room at 630 Garden Street, Santa Barbara, CA.   In order to submit an application, a representative of each potential applicant organization is required to attend this workshop in its entirety. Attendees of this workshop must be staff that are directly involved in preparing grant submissions. To receive future notifications contact LDrewes@SantaBarbaraCA.gov.

The City of Santa Barbara receives an annual allocation of Community Development Block Grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The funds are made available to the City to undertake specific eligible projects and programs that develop a viable urban community by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment.

The estimated amount of available funding is $1,600,000

Human Services and CDBG funds are to be used for programs that principally benefit low to moderate-income persons. Maximum incomes are shown in the chart linked here

Applications are to be submitted ONLINE using the Neighborly Software application portal. A separate application is required for each program or project. The City will not accept hardcopy, faxed, or emailed applications or attachments.

Applications with all required attachments are due
4:30 p.m. DECEMBER 12, 2024
NO EXCEPTIONS
The system will not allow you to save or submit your application after 4:30 p.m. December 12th.

A submittal that is found to be incomplete in any way will be considered invalid.

The City reserves the right to reject incomplete and unresponsive proposals and deny future funding to applicants that have been unresponsive in carrying out the grant requirements as stated by the City and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This notice is a solicitation of proposals only; no offer of contract or funding is implied. Costs incurred by the respondent in preparation and completion of this application are not the City's obligation and may not be reimbursed through grant funds.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT IMPROPERLY COMPLETED APPLICATIONS COULD AFFECT YOUR FUNDING REQUEST. YOUR APPLICATION MUST BE 100% COMPLETE BY DECEMBER 12 TO BE CONSIDERED FOR FUNDING. NO EXCEPTIONS.
