Inspection Request Cut-Off Time Changing March 2, 2026

The City of Santa Barbara’s Building and Safety Division is announcing a change to the daily inspection request cut-off time.

Effective Monday, March 2, 2026, the inspection request cut-off time will change from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

This adjustment will provide Building and Safety inspection staff with additional time to prepare and organize daily inspection routes. The change will also allow inspectors to begin inspections earlier in the day, helping to increase the maximum inspections achievable on high-volume days.

Inspection requests submitted after 6:00 a.m. will be scheduled for the next business day.

The City appreciates the community’s cooperation as we implement this update to better serve residents, contractors, and development partners.
