Celebrate Black History Month with a virtual event on Thursday, February 17, hosted by Healing Justice Santa Barbara. For decades, local Black community members have been archiving important historical moments, artifacts and memories of Black History. Healing Justice Santa Barbara recently partnered with the City on the preservation of Black landmarks. Learn about the historical and cultural context of the City's BIPOC community through a panel discussion and screening of a short documentary, "Black is Beautiful." A question and answer session will follow on the City's current process of developing an African American/Black Historic Context Statement.
