Pre-Lease Building Assessment, Expedited Design Review and Priority Plan Review for Downtown State Street, and 100% Affordable Housing Projects Citywide
The City of Santa Barbara's ACCELERATE program goal is to foster economic development for State Street businesses located between Cabrillo Boulevard and Sola Street (00 thru 1300 blocks of State Street) by making it easier and faster to occupy vacant, commercial space on State Street downtown. Additionally, housing projects citywide that are 100% affordable also receive priority review service. Design Review Agenda Priority: All applications in ACCELERATE’s target area will receive priority placement on Historic Landmarks Commission, Sign Committee and Architectural Board of Review Agendas. There is no additional cost for this beyond the standard fees. Ask your staff planner for details.
Building Plan Review - Move Faster: All ACCELERATE projects for tenant improvements in the program area, and 100% affordable housing projects citywide, will receive priority building plan review. There is no additional cost for this beyond the standard fees. Ask your staff plans examiner for details.
Customized Service: Meet, speak, and/or e-mail with the staff who will help guide your project through the design review and/or permitting process.
