Volunteers Wanted!

The City of Santa Barbara is seeking individuals to serve on the various City Advisory Groups. Members of these groups play an important role in shaping our community through active participation. Annual Recruitment 2024

The Annual Advisory Group Recruitment schedule is as follows:

Application Deadline:

  • Applications received past the deadline will be kept on file and included in the NEXT scheduled recruitment.
  • Applications kept on file remain valid for a period of one-year from date of submission and can be used in future recruitments while still valid.

Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

Interviews:

In order to be considered for appointment, all applicants must attend ONE interview from City Council. Santa Barbara Youth Council applicants must attend an interview with both the City Council and the current Youth Council.

Appointments for interview dates are not made - applicants must show up to any interview date that works best for them.

Interviews with City Council

Held in Council Chambers, City Hall, 735 Anacapa Street

  • Day 1: Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. (estimated time);
  • Day 2: Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. (estimated time); and
  • Day 3: Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. (estimated time) 

Interviews with Santa Barbara Youth Council (SBYC applicants only)

Held at Franklin Neighborhood Center, 1136 E. Montecito Street

  • Day 1: Monday, September 23, 2024, at 5:15 p.m.; 
  • Day 2: Monday, October 7, 2024, at 5:15 p.m.; and
  • Day 3: Monday, November 4, 2024, at 5:15 p.m.

Appointments:

Applicants do not need to attend for appointments. Notifications will be sent out via email to all applicants to inform them of their application status.

Applications may be submitted as follows:

Applications are available year-round and can be submitted at any time. Submitted applications are valid for a period of one-year from the submission date. Applications submitted by the posted Application Deadline will be considered for that current recruitment. 

Please note: completed applications are considered public records and are subject for production if requested, per Government Code § 7920.530.
