15 Dry Polymer Pumps Start Up

 This SOP can be skipped when the Filter Feed Pumps have been running normally and are under AUTO control by the Belt Filter Press.

One pump is in operation while the other is on standby. Polymer Pump operation is rotated each month at the same as the Belt Filter Press rotation.  Under normal conditions, the polymer feed pumps automatically start when the dewatering system is started each day.

The Polymer Feed Pumps are typically run under automatic control from the Belt Filter Press local control panel.  One pump is in operation while the other is on standby.  Polymer Pump operation is rotated each month at the same as the Belt Filter Press rotation.

This SOP is only necessary if the polymer pumps are restarting after then have been taken out of service.  Under normal conditions, the polymer feed pumps automatically start when the dewatering system is started each day.

1.     Start Polymer Pumps {tag nos. 1507PMP/MTR/VFD5300 & 1505PMP/MTR/VFD5400}.

The Polymer Pumps are typically run under automatic control by the Belt Filter Press control sequence.  This SOP can be skipped if the Belt Press Filter has been running normally and is under AUTO control.  This SOP must be performed if the polymer pumps have been taken out of service.

a.     Locate the Polymer Local Control Panel {tag no. 1507LCP5722} 

b.     Flip the breaker switch {1507SWI5722}+ to ON.

c.     Turn the HOA switches {tag nos. 1507HS5300A & 1507HS5400A} to the AUTO position

d.     Verify pump speed at the Belt Filter Press Control Panel {tag nos. 1506LCP5981 & 1506LCP5982} indicator screen {tag no. 1507SI5536 & 1507SI5536A}.  Adjust speed if necessary.
