1.     Open Belt Filter Press Sludge Drain Valve.

a.     Open BFP Drain Line valve {tag no. 1506VLV5181A & 1506VLV5182B}. This will stop sludge from going to the belt press filter.

2.     Stop Belt Filter Press {tag nos. 1506MTR5981 & 1506MTR5982}.

a.     Locate the Belt Filter Press Central Control Panel {tag nos. 1506CCP5981 & 1506CCP5982} associated with the BFP unit to be shut off.

b.     Turn the Dewatering Switch {tag nos. 1506HS5981G & 1506HS5982G} to the OFF position.  Sludge pumping and other dewatering system will automatically stop.

c.     Let the belt press and wash water continue running until the remaining sludge is dewatered.

3.     Hose down and clean area.

a.     Hose down all equipment from the upper platform.  Spray around blades, sludge box, corners, etc., until sludge is rinsed away.

c.     Start the Hydraulic Pump {tag nos. 1506PMP5100 & 1506PMP5200} at the Hand Switch {tag nos.1506HS5100 & 1506HS5200}.

d.     Pull out the Cloth Tension Pins {tag no. 1506VLV5100A, 1506VLV5100B & 1506VLV5200A, 1506VLV5200B} to retract the hydraulic rams.  Pins are located on the “upstairs”, east side of the BFP under the pressure gauges {tag no. 1506PI5100, 1506PI5100A & 150PI5200, 1506PI5200A}. Once the rams have retracted, stop the Hydraulic Pump {tag nos. 1506PMP5100 & 1506PMP5200} at the Hand Switch {tag nos.1506HS5100A & 1506HS5200A}.
