1 Public tours
Schools and other organizations are taken on a tour of the WWTP. The tour guide is an operator.
The general purpose of a guided tour is to educate interested individuals/organizations/groups on wastewater treatment at the El Estero WWTP.
- Be aware of construction, processes, chemicals, etc., that could be hazardous to guests.
- Be aware that guests are unfamiliar with tripping hazards, etc. that are common place to the operators.
- Consider the age of the guests on the tour. Young children may need more supervision than adults while on a tour.
If guests are properly supervised, this should not be an issue.
Scheduling must be clearly communicated between the Water Resources Department and El Estero WWTP personnel.
Familiarity with the WWTP layout and processes.
