If you are disposing of waste generated from within the City of Santa Barbara and have your own vehicles with 1) a gross vehicle weight of 7 tons or more, or 2) your containers are greater than ten cubic yards, then you need to have a valid unscheduled hauler permit (even to haul waste from your own job sites).

If you want to hire a private hauler to drop a roll-off/debris box or hire a dump truck for a construction site within City limits, you must choose from the list of permitted haulers below. These haulers will take the waste to facilities that will recycle as much as possible from the loads.
To place a temporary roll-off on public street you must first obtain a permit from the Public Works Department.
